I'll Help You Find Your Missing Shoe
by Anonymous

Because there’s no difference in protecting those you love from feeling blue And finding a reason to live for yourself
I've realised that most of the time in life you have to do things you don’t want to do
You have to get out of bed and find your missing shoe
Put it on and go to the shop with your sister
She’s moving out next year, and you’re going to miss her
You have to eat your tea, if your mum's been making it all evening
Then wash the dishes for her, until they’re gleaming
Most of the time in life you have to do things you don’t want to do
Because one day you’ll realise that it isn’t all about you
You’re the most important person in your own life, of course
But you need to understand that people speak in morse
You might think they don’t care but it’s in the things they do
It’s in them helping you finding your missing shoe
Care can be found when someone rests their head on your shoulder
Or in a good luck message when you do something bolder
People who don’t love you don’t offer you their coat
Or tell you how they love that poem you wrote
And that’s why sometimes it is okay to live for people who aren’t you
Because there’s no difference in protecting those you love from feeling blue
And finding a reason to live for yourself
Valuing others mental health
If they’re important enough to you they become part of who you are
And that’s why you shouldn’t ever make yourself too far
Because gone forever is much too distant
And that’s why sometimes you have to do things you feel like you can’t
